Would anyone be able to help?
Hello, I am incredibly new to this forum (and Guild Wars in general). My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.
In anticipation for GW2, I decided I would try to get 7 points in the Hall of Monuments and purchased the Trilogy + Eye of the North. However, this plays much differently compared to the GW2 betas and I can't really get myself into it... So if you could help me out with some of these questions, I'd be eternally grateful. Where is the Hall of Monuments & when is the earliest I can get to it? I'm currently in the Prophecies Campaign at The Frost Gate (I believe). I'd like to see where I need to go to get these points. Is there any fast ways to obtain the Sweet Tooth title (1000 sweets)? Such as any enemies with higher drops for sweets, or if a certain NPC could sell some, or just any quick way to nab some sweets. Would anyone be able to help me complete some missions in-game? I'm finding it becoming way too difficult to progress through the story missions since almost all of my skills are just debuffs (I'm guessing Mesmers got the biggest change from GW1). If anyone could help me out in-game or just providing some answers here, that would be amazing. Thank you for reading. In-game name: Xalugami Origin |

To see what you need see here, the sticky, either of the wikis, or any of the other crapton of websites/threads about it. Anyway, for future reference, to get there you need to access the EotN areas via a quest in Lion's Arch (or Kaineng Center/Kamadan). From there just follow the plot a little bit and you'll get there (it's a side chamber off the Eye of the North outpost). Quote:
-Enemies will only drop sweets on specific sweet dropping weekends/events. The chance is the same for all foes, so if you were to farm them you'd go for an area that gives the most kills in the shortest amount of time (which would be raptors, but that means nothing to you). Forget about farming them yourself; it's not a viable way to obtain the title atm. -NPC's in Cantha sell Red Bean Cakes. That's two points for 400g; though you're better off buying sweet points from other players. I'm not up to date on the current prices, but it's roughly 100-120g per point (though it drops during events due to increased supply). Nonetheless, it's going to be really expensive.

Everything Marty says is true. IMO, buying the entire game for 7 HoM points was kind of silly, but what's done is done. Now that it's yours, when the shine wears off of GW2 and you're looking for something to do, you'll always have GW1 to experience to its fullest (if ANet is still running it).
That said, we should probably answer your question about how to most efficiently get your 7 points. Just having the game assumes you'll be linking it to GW2. That's an instant: 3 points (Honor) If you're at the Frost Gate, you're about 2 missions away from Lion's Arch, Prophecies' port city. When you arrive in LA, you can walk out into North Kryta Province where MOX will be waiting for you. You can put him into your HoM directly: 1 point (Fellowship) Finish Prophecies. This will give you Hero of Tyria (you can run from Temple of the Ages to Sanctum Cay if you want to skip some content), which qualifies for "any statue": 2 points (Honor) Make a PvP-only ranger. You should have a level 20 wolf pet. Take that to the Zaishen Menagerie (it's on the same map as your PvP character's starter outpost, Great Temple of Balthazar) and turn it over to Emryd the Tamer. Change your PvE character's secondary to ranger (which you should be able to do if you've done the Crystal Desert and finished Prophecies) and equip Charm Animal skill. Talk to Wynn in the Menagerie to spawn a level 20 wolf for you to tame, then put it in your HoM: 1 point (Fellowship) Consult http://wiki.guildwars.com to look up anything here that doesn't make sense to you (which is probably most of it). You should generally just play the game. But this will help you be on the lookout for the easiest way to your goal as you go along. ETA: Be on the lookout for skill trainers to give you some better skills. At Lion's Arch, you can also take a trip to Factions and Nightfall, where you can buy even more skills, upgrade to max armor, and get some heroes in Nightfall (though their skills will suck right out of the box).
